November - December 2010
The Fabric Art Designers show their latest creations at a special show called ‘Tangled Threads’ in the Satin Moon Quilt shop. Even though this photo shows only me there really are more of us in the group!

October 2010
I took my quilted journal pattern to Houston for the world’s largest trade show for quilting and fabric art. We were only one of 1140 different vendors displaying our wares to shop and store owners around the world. I met people from Australia, Brazil and Netherlands. All three floors of the gigantic Convention Centre were dedicated to quilting and fabric arts with the trade show, hundreds of classes and countless quilt shows. It was an amazing experience.

September 2010 -- Painted Canvas Journal Workshop
I led four enthusiastic women through the process of making their own journals, including painting canvas for the covers. Each journal was a work of art that I not-so-secretely coveted. This workshop is available on request.

August 2010
I visited my friend's new house on my summer trip to Ontario only to find one of my wallhangings looking wonderful in her beautiful bedroom.

June 19, 2010 -- "Dedication"
This piece, called "Dedication", was presented to the Honourable Steven Point, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, by the North Saanich Fire Department and Volunteer Firefighters Association. The gift symbolizes respect for His Honour’s leadership in both his Stó:lō Nation and Lieutenant Governor positions. It incorporates several symbols: the Stó:lō Nation logo, braid and oak leaves which are found on the Lieutenant Governor’s dress uniform, white eagle feathers, and dogwood petals (in the dangling beads). His Honour told me he had never before received such a unique and "precious" gift.

May 24, 2010 -- New Handmade Journals
I received some beautiful fabric samples from an interior design store. Naturally, my mind was awhirl with ideas. What could I do with these odd sized pieces of gorgeous fabric? The end result was a new design for a pocket or purse-sized handmade journal that you can easily carry with you. Here are some of the first ones off my "assembly line".

March 14, 2010 -- Open House
This weekend my friends the McCumbers and I hosted an Artist's Open House in my home. The event was a huge success with about 60 people attending. The walls were covered with selections of my fabric art from the last 15 years. Most people were not familiar with this kind of fabric art, but they exclaimed about the variety, creativity, colour, and beauty of my work. Many asked me to do it again, so watch here for information about the next event!
